Holy Trinity exists on the traditional territories of the WSANEC people. For 20 years we have journeyed with our First Nation neighbours from the Tseycum, Pauquachin, Tsawout, and Tsartlip, taking part in workshops, talking circles, crafts, cooking, and lively and informative discussions and presentations. We have broken bread together with Companion Journeying dinners and barbeques.
We are committed to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action No. 59: We call upon church parties to the Settlement Agreement to develop ongoing education strategies to ensure that their respective congregations learn about their church's role in colonization, the history and legacy of residential schools, and why apologies to former residential school students, their families and communities were necessary.
We have held educational workshops for the community to foster understanding of our First Nation neighbours. We wish to continue our journey of understanding and reconciliation with First Nations and establish and maintain a mutual spirit of unity as we walk together in a shared future..
